Meet Our teachers

Miss Sue 

Sue has taught in the Temecula/Murrieta area for over 25 years. Dancing since the age of 3, Sue has collected a Lifetime of experience both on the dance floor and behind the scenes, creating a special environment enjoyed by so many at Miss Sue's Dance Company.

She started at a small studio in Newport Beach, where she found her passion for dance. She was soon asked to join their traveling dance company performing throughout Southern California. Sue has also enjoyed competing throughout Southern California's Country Swing & Ballroom circuits. She gained further perspective as a mother having her 2 daughters on competitive dance teams. She soon saw the need for a studio that could do things differently, so endeavored to create Miss Sue's Dance Company, to nurture a True Love of Dance within every dancer in a studio they can call their home.

Sierra Darling

Sierra grew up in the dance world with a mom as a dance teacher. She started dancing at the age of 3 and has experience in Jazz, Ballet, Lyrical, Contemporary, Tap, Hip-Hop, and Musical Theater. She competed for many years, winning numerous awards with her teams. In high school Sierra was on the MVHS Varsity Dance Team. After graduating she got her Communications degree from San Diego State University. Sierra has been teaching for 13 years and has experience teaching all ages and styles of dance. Sierra also choreographs for our competition teams. Her routines have won numerous awards and many 1st overalls. Sierra helps coordinate our summer and winter recitals, including choreographing our opening number and father/daughter dance. She is a proud mom of a beautiful daughter and new baby boy and can't wait to pass along her passion and love for dance to her children.

Joey Ellis

Joey fell in love with dance at a young age, and it continues to be a big part of her life. As a child she competed in numerous hip hop competitions, continually placing in the top ten. Having danced with several studios in Southern California, her training includes ballet, tap, hip hop, jazz, contemporary, and modern. In her sophomore year of High School she became captain of the nationally ranked MVHS dance team. Joey's talent has enabled her to perform in many venues from California to Florida. Her travels also include London, Zurich, Dubai, and Uganda where she established a children's dance program to help orphans of Kampala. She now desires to share that experience and passion with people who love dance as much as she does.

Kim Ludman

Kim fell in love with dance at the age of 3 and has been passionate about it ever since. She danced with the Living Arts Dance Company for 10 years doing ballet, tap, jazz, and pointe. In that time she danced at a convention and starred as Clara in her studio's production of The Nutcracker. She is the proud mom of twin girls who share her love for dance and is looking forward to helping them develop their passion for it as they grow.

mandy Sawyer

Mandy Sawyer grew up dancing at The Dance Club, Orem, UT, a highly-acclaimed dance studio where she trained and competed in diverse styles, including Jazz, Ballet, Lyrical, Contemporary, Hip Hop, and Tap. She learned, there, how to combine unique varieties of styles. She gained rare, valuable opportunities of teaching and choreographing as early as age 14. She has 10 years’ experience teaching in three states, students ranging from the ages 2-35. She continued her dance education in Provo, UT at Brigham Young University where she was invited to teach for 2 years and has been able to work under Jen Tingey in various projects including the music video for the Entrada Kickoff 2019. Her focus as an instructor and choreographer is to balance the structure, technique and respect that the sport requires, with the creativity and emotion that the art form calls for. This focus has earned her routines several High Point and Best Choreography awards.

Melissa Verlingo

Melissa has trained in many studios throughout Southern California and Hollywood. She attended CSUF with the studies of Dance and Kinesiology; with an emphasis on teaching.  She started her dance career in a Ballet studio and then moved on to competitive dance. She competed in Ballet, Lyrical, Jazz, and Tap. She scored 1st with her dance teams as well as high scores in her solos and trios. During high school she participated in MVHS Dance Team and Dance Production. During her college years she was able to perform with a touring assemble in Southern California.  She is currently working to obtain her Yoga and Pilates Certification.  Melissa has a strong passion for teaching all genres of dance. She began teaching at age 16. She teaches all levels from dance beginnings to adult.  Her award-winning choreography is  innovative, current, exciting and creative.  Melissa has choreographed numerous award winning numbers. 

Christina Morin

Christina started performing at the age of 3 in her parent’s song and dance group, Menifee Valley Stars, where they performed across Southern California. It wasn’t until she moved to Utah at age 11, that she took her first dance class and fell in love right away, especially with Jazz, Hip-Hop and Character. She quickly began competing winning many awards as well as becoming undefeated in her division as a solo competitor. She started teaching at the age of 16, teaching Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Hip-Hop, Lyrical and Character Productions. She has danced alongside many Hip-Hop choreographers within conventions and is grateful for the experience they have given her. In 2008, she was invited to be part of the feature film High School Musical 3: Senior Year. She then moved to Florida to pursue her love of dance by becoming an entertainer at Walt Disney World, dancing in many shows and parades throughout the parks. Although she has a strong passion for performing, she has put that aside to fulfill her favorite role as wife and mother to 2 little dancers of her own. Dancing will always be a part of her life.

Krystal King

‚ÄčKrystal King has been trained in some of the most reputable studios in southern California. Throughout her dance career she has performed in many venues ranging from professional basketball games to art galas. Krystal has received mulitpule awards for her work as both a dancer and choreographer. Once in college Krystal's passion for the arts grew. She joined Axxiom, a company in which she had the privilege to travel and perform all over the country. She became well known in the San Diego area for her high energy and sassy stage presence. While dance is one of her greatest passions, teaching is second to none. Krystal finds extreme joy in inspiring up and coming artists to love performing as she does. She Currently resides in Wildomar CA with her loving little family, where she coaches dance at Temecula Valley High school and raises her spunky three year old Karagen. Krystal is excited to continue sharing her quirky and energetic style with the MSDC family.

Joanna Haakma

Joanna has danced all over the United States, starting off in San Diego when she was three years old. She took time off of her passion to explore other sports but started her official career at the age of 8 in Virginia where she trained in ballet, jazz, and tap. Moving to Hawaii, Joanna further explored other dance styles and started competing, she also started training in acrobatics. Hawaii is also the place she found her love and passion for teaching when she was 11 years old. Since then Joanna has moved to North Carolina to continue competing and teaching. After graduating, Joanna moved back to California to start college. During college she has trained in ballet, choreography, and Latin Ballroom. Joanna loves sharing her knowledge and passion with all her students.
